This vegan, gluten free and no preservatives jerk flavoured lentil mix is made of dehydrated whole crimson lentils and beans. This is a wholesome and protein filled nutritious meal.
We have pre-cooked the lentils so you can enjoy them just within 15 minutes.
Put the lentils in a pot.
Add 8 cups of hot water
Empty the spices into the pot and mix well
Cover the pot and let it simmer on low heat for 15 minutes .
Remove the cover and mix well
(Mash some of the lentils with the back of the spoon to thicken the soup)
- Add any of your favorite vegetables to the mix. Examples : red pepper, green pepperi, baby tomatoes, or carrots which would go well with the jerk flavour.
- For a Lentils pilaff add 1 cup quick-cooking wild or brown rice before cooking.
- For vegetable and lentils stew, add 1-2 tablespoon of cornstarch to 1/2 cup warm water and add to the lentils after its cooked keep stirring till it thickens.
- Garnish with coriander, lemon, parsley, or black pepper.
